 Who is Executive Director Tim Abram ?



Tim Abram was born and raised in Lakeland, FL and currently serves as the Executive Director for the Lakeland Police Athletic League (PAL). Annually, PAL serves over 1500 children in the Lakeland community. Tim has worked with troubled youth for over 27 years and has served as a mentor to thousands of children for the Department of Juvenile Justice Systems.

Tim graduated from Lake Gibson High in 1991, and later attended Grambling State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation/ Leisure Studies. While attending Grambling State University, Tim is very proud to have had the opportunity of playing football for the late legendary coach Eddie Robinson. Tim has since gone on to earn an MBA from Everest University in 2005, and he recently completed the Certified Public Manager certificate from Florida State University. Tim is married to Tomeka Abram and they have 3 boys; Corinthian, Timadre , Tylan  and 2 girls; Tinika  and Tia. Tim Abram continues to mentoring our youth and serve our local community with partnering up with many charities. Tim takes pride in living and following his Passion and Purpose by "Filing Playgrounds and Colleges and not Prisons."

Who is Program Coordinator Shree Chamberlain



Meet Shree Chamberlain

Shree was born in St. Louis, MO.. She moved to Lakeland Florida in 1994 and graduated from Lakeland Senior High School in 2000. She played point guard for her high school and college basketball team. She was also active on the high school track & field team and song for All County Chorus and Disney Candle Light for 4 years. She later attended University of Phoenix where she graduated with a Degree in Business Management with Concentration on Accounting.  Shree is continuing to peruse her goal to be a CPA. Shree has been a part of Lakeland PAL since 2011 as a volunteering as the Varsity Cheer Coach, where she has brought Lakeland PAL Varsity 6 1st Place trophies in the SFAPAL State Cheer Competition. Shree has also served as the PAL Mentoring Coordinator prior to accepting the position as the Lakeland PAL Program Coordinator.  Shree has mentored many teens from the ages of 4-18 at her time with PAL. Shree has helped assist for the last 6 years with implementing the National PAL Mentoring Day Events. Shree is married to Paul Demmings and they have 3 children together, that are also a part of many Lakeland PAL programs. Tariah Demmings 16, Tyrique Demmings 12 and Ta’Leah Demmings 11.





                    








Who is Program Coordinator Rakeem Rutherford

Rakeem Rutherford was born and raised in Morganton, NC. He comes to Lakeland after a year in South Florida as a Professional Scout for Athletes USA. Rakeem was a high school standout in football and basketball. He played collegiate football at Emory & Henry College. In his senior year, he was voted Team Captain and was an All-ODAC Free Safety. He earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Management in 2011 from Emory & Henry College (Va.), then went on to complete his Master’s Degree in Community and Organizational Leadership. As he worked on his Master’s degree, Rutherford was an E&H Graduate Assistant Football coach who also spent time as a Middle School Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach for Football and Basketball in Damascus, Virginia. In 2013, he moved back to his hometown in NC and began working as the Recreation Supervisor of Mt. View Recreation facility where he implemented programs such as; Community Day, Indoor Soccer, NFL sponsored Flag Football, Basketball Development, Exercise Camps, Fun Day Camps, a fixed-income cooking class, Summer Reading and Math Programs, Yoga, Praise Dance, and Y.E.L.L (Youth Engaged in Leadership & Learning). Rakeem is married to Mercedez Rutherford and they have two daughters; Madelyn Rutherford (5) and Arya Rutherford (2).
